1. The Statue of Liberty: A huge statue (152 feet high) on Liberty Island in New York harbor, designed by a French architect .It was given by the French in 1884 to commemorate the French and American Revolutions.

The Twin Towers of the World Trade Center: The two towers are 405 meters high, and each has 110 floors .Together the two towers have 48 600 windows .Three of the 102 elevators in each tower can take you from the first to the 110th floor in one minute .Besides, there are international banks, government offices, transportation companies, restaurants and import and export businesses inside the twin towers.

The Louvre Palace : The national art museum of France .It’s said to contain the most prestigious art collection housed any where in the world under one roof .It’s located on the right bank of the Seine River .Over the centuries, the Louvre has been expanded with new galleries added , among which is the glass pyramid designed by I .M . Pei (Chinese_American architect) in 1989 for the commemoration of the bicentenary of the French Revolution.

The Arch of Triumph: A famous arch in Paris, commissioned by Napoleon in 1806 as a homage to his Grand Army and completed in 1836 .Napoleon was dethroned in 1815 and died in 1821 .The arch is 164 feet high and 147 feet wide , with a central archway of 48 feet wide .In 1920 the body of an unknown soldier was buried underneath the arch and a flame is kindled every evening at six to commemorate those who died in World War Ⅰ, and today to honor the dead of World War Ⅱ as well.
